Brief workshop description

BOOTCAMP! BODY MOVEMENT TECHNIQUE, DRILLS & COMBINATIONS - This is not a "styling" course. This is about gaining understanding of the body mechanics in order to create fluidity when dancing and as result “execute” the movement rather than “doing” the movement. Styling can only be added once you understand body movement. Styling is the “cream, cherry and sprinkle” on top of the cake. Body movement is the "cake" - the base that is put together by different elements. This course will go over many of the details we normally don't have enough time for in the regular courses. We will cover everything starting from your feet to ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, arms, ribcage and more. All of this falls under body movement as it is important to understand the relation from one to the other in order to understand coordination, weight transfer, isolations etc. These technical details are important if you want to make your dancing smooth, simple, graceful and have (or understand) control of each movement. One weekend will be dedicated to Level 1 and go over the technical parts step-by-step. Another weekend will be dedicated to put these techniques in practice and how to apply. Beginners who have completed L1 are welcome! To get the most out of these boot camps, knowledge and understanding of Salsa and Bachata basics, timing and rhythm is essential. SALSA Partnerwork - Upbeat, fun and exciting! This is thee most popular Latin dance in the world and does not need much introduction as it is the King of Latin dance styles! You will learn fun and exciting Salsa partner work and footwork! In this workshops we will explore smooth, elegant yet exciting and perfectly leadable partner work for the social dance floor. We will start by quickly reviewing some the most important elements in our methodology to get everyone to understaand our starting level point. From there we will gradually step it up to Level 3 (advanced) partnerwork, timing, styling/decoration and footwork. Come learn with Gian who has been teaching Salsa dancing professionally since 2003. With over two decades of knowledge and experience, he has developed an exeptional skill to build up your dancing from the ground up progressively! On top of it all, he is also a multiple Salsa champion and World Professional Salsa Champion. Please note, this workshop is not suitable for complete beginners to Salsa dancing.

BACHATA Partnerwork - Bachata has exploded in popularity mainly due to the music remixes, simple steps, turns and optional sensual decorations. Bachata has a very simple basic structure. Yet still remains challenging for those who want to explore the trends and dig deeper in the roots and variations of Bachata. In this workshop we will use the turn variation of Modern Bachata, spice it up with some Traditional Bachata partner work and decorate it with Sensual Bachata using all corners of the "Bachata Trinity" Making a complete package for how bachata is danced today. Gian will be conducting this bachata workshop assisted by Alina. All level are most welcome and you don't need a partner to join! Please note this workshop is not suitable for complete beginners with no experience of Bachata dancing. For more info on Bachata please click HERE
